River Street 3D Track (2016)

Software: Maya, Nuke, Speedtree, Mari, After Effects, Photoshop, Renderman

The objective of this project was to model, light, and texture cg to match live footage. Responsible for all aspects. Using Nuke's 3D tracking features, I created a point cloud and generated a mesh that was then used to collide with geometry in Speedtree. I used Renderman Reyes to render out the scene in passes along with light sets. A key light and IBL were used for lighting. This is soon to be added to my reel; for now the full video with breakdown can be viewed here.

Westin Savannah: Projection Mapping a Christmas Show (2015)

Software: Photoshop, Illustrator, Maya, Zbrush, Maya, After Effects

Two other artists and I were assigned with the task to create a 5-6 minute projected show and a 28 minute interlude for a 16 story high building. The show aired the 18, 19th, & 20th of December, 2015. We had less than 3  weeks to develop content from start to finish. I was responsible for the model of building from blueprint (for mapping purposes), 3D assets, look dev, and the interlude show. The interlude show consisted of animated wrapping paper and sponsors that would animate in on 2.5D ornaments while a 3D time ticker ran in the background.

RIB Wrangling (2015)

Software: Photoshop, Cutter, Renderman

Utilizing an external text editor outside of Maya to write RIB files and command render, this project focused on the way geometric primitives, attributes, lighting, and coordinate systems are represented by Pixar's Renderman. The bulk of my time within this project was spent fitting the geometry together and placing texture to align on shapes with default UV's. Lighting was relatively simple, an environment light was used in addition to a key light. Responsible for all aspects in this scene.

Phantom's Last Rose (2015)

Software: Photoshop, Maya, MentalRay, Zbrush, Nuke, After Effects

These are stills from a DreamWorks Animation mentored project. The first image is my concept. The focus of this project was in storytelling, lighting, and creating a dynamic element to bring a full cg scene to life within 3 weeks time from pitching a concept to final render while receiving and utilizing feedback from CG supervisors. This scene used final gather from a projected image fireplace (not pictured) to create a soft fireplace glow and flicker as the camera moves about the scene revealing a rose and the reflection of the Phantom's mask left behind in a shard of glass. Responsible for all aspects but a few models.

Mood Match: Hugo (2014)

Software: Photoshop, Maya, MentalRay, Nuke, After Effects

Objective of this project was to quickly recreate a scene from a movie still and match the mood of lighting. I chose to match the work of cinematographer, Robert Richardson. Responsible for all aspects but a few a models. The full video can be seen here.

Architectural Light Plotting (2013)

Software: Maya, MentalRay, IES

This was a volunteer project for the Washington Community Theater. A theater colleague of mine reached out remotely and asked if I could create elevation renderings with IES files to help visualize and plot the light fall off. The driveway previously did not have any lights with the exception of the down-lighting cans on the building. The challenge was the elevation of the driveway and making sure the lights had full coverage on the sloping driveway. The images include the before reference photos (without lights), the plotting and renders, and finally, the photos taken by the electrician after installation.
